So awhile back I blogged about a new hobby I was beginning...HaIrBoWs!
Well, making one hair bow kind of turned into making another and another and so on. Now nap time, after bedtime, when Jeff and Gabby go somewhere for Daddy/Daughter time...well, pretty much anytime I do not have Gabby at my side...is consumed with making hair bows!
It is super easy everyone! A lot of my friends have commented on how lucky I am to be able to have "skills" to make hair bows. Anyone can seriously do it! You do have to have patience which I cannot believe that I am saying because I SO do not have a ton of patience. It is kind of therapeutic though. And what I LOVE is that when I have want to stop for awhile I can stop and walk away for a while...SCORE!
So, my point is that, I got this wild idea to take some bows that I had made to a local boutique to see if they might want to start selling them. WHAT? I seriously got half way there(because when I said local I really meant an hour drive) and asked myself what I was doing?!? But with a few encouraging words from my hubby and bestie I continued on my way!
I pull into the town with my bag that contained over a dozen examples/promos/displays(or whatever they might be called)with me. I parked, freshened up in the ladies room, walked down the sidewalk a little bit to prepare...and In I Went! Now, to preface this situation a little bit, I have frequented this boutique in the past with Gabby. The owner is an absolute doll and we know each other by face. She recognized me(CHA CHING) and said hello(CHA CHING x's TWO...I was just excited that she was there today because I was hoping I had not driven all that way to have to leave them for her to look at later). She proceeded to show me to the sale racks(which I thought was funny)and tell me what was discounted...HA...CHA CHING x's THREE I guess :). I think she remembered that I am a bargain shopper too!
This store is AdOrAbLe!! I usually cannot contain myself when I shop here and could easily spend hours in this place. The cutest clothes, kids shoes, hats, raincoats, boots, maternity, etc. I always get a ton of compliments on the clothes that I purchase for Gabby from this store...which is called O'Child Boutique by the way! Chatti Patti, Baby LuLu, Just Friends and Itzy Bitzy are a few of my favorite brands!
The owner, Nancy, asked how I was enjoying my time home with Gabby which was a great way to start talking about my new hobby. I opened my bag and pulled out all my samples to share. I browsed the store to give her a chance to really look at the hair bows. Pretty soon I was excited to hear her saying that she really liked them and would like to see how they would sell, etc. WHAT?...In A Good Way This Time! YAY!
I have always wanted to be a business owner. And even if it is a one person company, with no name, I am a business owner...Yippee!
Here is a picture of the samples I took with me today to the boutique.
These are some of my favorites!
So, if you are ever in the Bloomington, IN area be sure to stop in and see Nancy at O'Child Boutique. Oh, and look for my hair bows...Yay!

Yay for you! For finding something fun for you to do when/if you have time and for taking the step to make a home business out of it! Good for you. I can't wait to hear all about your success and to see more of your beautiful bows.
Seriously, they are super cute and I REALLY don't think I would have the patients to do it! Good for you! Will you please make Adalyn about 5 of the bigger bows. I for sure want the White, Pink, and Black flowered one-that would go with a lot of her outfits. I also need one of the orange ones and a purple one too! Surprise me with the other two. Can't wait to put them in her hair!
