Not Too Shabby...

So I have taken up a new hobby! Hair Bow Making! I did this for various reasons. To save mullah! To find something to do other than graze in the kitchen and snack on any type of food item I can find during Gabby's nap time. And finally because I really want to be able to tell Gabby when she grows up that I "made" something for her when she was little.

It took me basically all of nap time today and a little bit of tonight to figure it out. The first hour was spent staring at the ribbon and trying to encourage myself to keep going...ha! I kept going and...VOILA...my first bow complete! I used some left over ribbon from Valentine's Day to practice with! I was not about to bust into the 30.00 of ribbon I got on clearance at Michael's over the weekend until I was a little bit more confident!

There is only room to improve right?! It is surely not 100%, but I am just glad I actually made something for a change. I even used a needle and thread! For those of you that know me well that is pretty impressive! I think the only time I have ever picked up a needle and thread was to hand the sewing kit to my mother in law!

Needless to say, I am super pumped to make hair bows! I may even make one more when Gabby goes to bed tonight! Oh shoot...speaking of bed it is 10:00pm and she is still watching cartoons. Bonus night for her! I am so darn excited about this bow that I lost track of time.

What do you guys think? Honest thoughts? Ditch the hobby or keep going?

Keep the hobby (unless it frustrates you). I think you did a great job! I'm so glad you're enjoying your time at home with Gabby! I know she loves having you with her! Time with your child is precious - you'll never get those moments back. Enjoy each day, plan for tomorrow, and love the memories you create!

Maybe I can try the hair bows out on Gracie too. Send me your new address via email sometime and I will ship some to you to advertise for me! I am serious about shipping them to you...joking about the advertising part! I am planning to try to make some for my garage sale though...why not right!?!
