Prelude to Gabby's "REAL" 1st Birthday Party

Gabby is turning the big "1" tomorrow! Last night, my very sweet mom/dad in-law came over to help me bake cupcakes for Gabby's party at the daycare. Now, many of you that know me REALLY well can attest to the fact that I know NOTHING about cooking!! Jeff does all of it and this is just fine with me! Gabby has this shirt that says, "mommy's baking assistant" that was a hand me down. Yeahhh...we are going to burn this shirt after last night! Well, first off, Doris had to remind me that I needed eggs and oil for my cupcakes. Aaahhhh...I serously probably would have forgotten to add this if it weren't for her reminding me. Next, icing was a mess! Doris helped me smear the icing on the cupcakes. She does not know this yet, but let me admit that I tried to ice the cupcakes reeaally slow so that she could basically ice them all and they would look better! She is pretty smart so I am sure she caught on to what I was doing! The decorating was actually not that bad! How hard can it be though when you only put green/pink polka dots on! Next, we got the wise idea to let Gabby "practice" eating with an iced cupcake for the real event on Wednesday! Here is footage from the event. Her birthday party is going to be a hoot...and REALLY messy! Gabby's "official" birthday party is on Wednesday night, but the daycare is having a small party today for her. Doris and John are going to attend in my place (thanks for that Grandmama and Grandad)!
