RMH Pro Am Fishing Tournament and CMA Fest!

We took a short family vacation last week.  It started on Thursday in Kentucky for the Ronald McDonald House of Kentucky's Annual Pro Am Fishing Tournament.  Gabby and I tagged along with Jeff and three of his friends.  We stayed in a large house on the lake and swam in the pool and got some sun while Daddy and the guys went fishing with a pro for the day.  I was a little leery about going at first because finding ways to entertain a two year old may be difficult.
However, after it's all said and done, I am so glad we went and actually think we will tag along next year too!  I definitely had to watch Gabby near the water like a hawk as she many times jumped in water as deep as 5 ft without any warning to her mommy.  Scared the life right out of me!  She proceeded to say, as she came up from under the water, "mom...it's ok...gosh"!  Sheesh...she is something else!  Keeps us on our toes all the time that's for sure!

While we were at the lake, Gabby also decided she was going to perform for us as well.  She is very into the "Upside Down Show" on Nick Jr at the moment.  I personally think this show is the weirdest show on TV(it even tops Yo Gabba Gabba weird which used to be the weirdest show in my mind).  Here Gabby is pretending to act like the hosts on the show.  She sings a little song for you and then counts to 16(I think).  She is a riot!

Our next stop was the CMA Fest in Nashville, TN!  What a blast we had, however, it was HOT HOT HOT!
The temps were in the high 90's and we applied sunscreen multiple times per day.  Dr Pepper hosted the Family Fun Fest throughout the day and this was really fun.
Gabby enjoyed playing her version of corn hole,
even though she has no clue how to really play.  It was fun watching her stand on the corn hole wooden board and try to throw the bag in the hole.  We also enjoyed decorating hats and poster board with puffy paint,
sliding down the "Mamwich" bouncy slide
and sitting in the driver's seat of the "Lunchable's" school bus.
Gabby pretended to be a singer at this venue as well and we got our picture taken.  Priceless!

It's a small world because while we were at the Dr Pepper/McDonalds tent during the day, we happened to run into Jeff's fraternity brother, Rob,
and his wife, Stacey, that we have not seen in years.  Stacey is also a Chi O from State and we met up with them later that night at the CMA concert too.  It was fun to catch up and we hope to see them again real soon...maybe a cookout and swim party with all the kids!  We ate at our favorite taco place, San Antonio Taco Company(SATCO) twice and even brought some chips, queso and fajita tacos home for Dad/Grampy!  He experienced it once and is now hooked on their food.  I'm tellin' ya this place is good y'all!

On our way back north we stopped at Dinosaur World.
Gabby likes dinosaurs and does a really cute impersonation of them frequently so we thought we would show her the real things up close and personal.  She loved it!  It was a walking trail full of different types of dinosaurs, videos, dinosaur playgrounds and museum...really neat actually.

Gabby now has a puzzle and some cool dinosaur figurines to prove she saw the "dinosaurs...RaHhhHrrRr!" as she tells people.

Such a great trip, but it feels good to be home.  I just asked someone today if they ever feel like they need a vacation after a vacation..ha ha!  I know I do!  Traveling with TWO kids(aka...Jeff and Gabby) is hard work for a Mama!
