Anyhoo, yesterday I thought I would sit Gabby on the "kiddy potty" in our bathroom before putting her diaper back on her after a diaper change. As the three of us piled into the bathroom to watch, I sat her down on the potty and Jeff said, "is she doing it"? I quickly told Jeff that she is not going to do it the first time and reminded him that we have to give her time and repeat this process over and over again for it to work. So this morning, I tried again. This time I stripped her down and let her sit on her potty while I filled her bath water. I turned around to stick her in the tub and low and behold...WE HAD PEE PEE! And it was a lot of pee. I screamed so loud in excitement that Jeff had thought Gabby was hurt or something. He came running to see what was going on while Gabby just stared at me. She said, "mommy what...mommy" and then burst into tears. I think that my excitement scared her to death and she is probably afraid of the potty now. Good goin' Katie...scare your kid away from the potty! BAM, and mother of the year goes to... This may be gross, but I took a picture for everyone's enjoyment and for the good ole' scrapbook! Gabby is waving to it telling it "bye bye" before we flush it.
(Of course the pee pee had to be accompanied with toilet paper too).
UPDATE:
It looks like we may have a potty trainer in progress! Gabby pee pee'd on the potty again tonight. This time she came to me and said, "pee pee". So we ran into the bathroom, stripped off her sleeper and diaper and....whaala! More pee pee! We are pretty excited! Oh yea...and I managed to keep my emotions under control this time! I started to get the high pitch squeal in my voice out of excitement again but stopped myself just in time...no tears! Soooo, let March 1, 2009 go down in history on the books as our first potty training success and begin date! We,ll see how she does this week!

Yay!! Congrats!! This is a big accomplishment!! I am proud of lil Gabby! Hopefully, this will be short and sweet and she will be in big girl panties soon!!
GO GABBY! Gabriel has been going pee pee on the potty too. He is not really ready but every time I put him on it he goes :) So at least he knows what to do!
I'm so impressed with these kiddos (Gabe and Gabby) - what big little guys/gals. It was good to see you today - you look great! Sorry we didn't have more time to chat and catch up. Let's meet up soon AWAY from the office so it's more calm.
Sounds good Carey! We'll be in touch!
