Our First REAL Snow!

Yesterday, we woke up to our first REAL snow day! I was shocked to see so much snow on the ground because our weather forecasters have not necessarily been "on target" when talking about the weather snow predictions lately. For example, a couple of weeks ago, they predicted that we would get a ton of snow and then we woke up to none. So, to be honest, this time it was one of those, "believe it when you see it" things! At any rate, we have 14 inches to prove it this time! Wahoo...yeahh not really! Our snow blower decided to quit working in the heart of all this mess. It worked on Tuesday night when we got hit with the first round of snow. However, Wednesday morning was not pretty when I looked out the window and saw Jeff with the shovel at the end of the driveway! I seriously wanted to cry for Jeff and also pray that he did not drop dead of a heart attack! I felt really sorry for him and the other neighbors shoveling their driveways! As for me, I had Gabby duty! Isn't that what mothers are supposed to do after all!?! We sat all nestled in the house watching ELMO of course! I think in one of the pictures below (if you zoom in) you can see our neighbor across the street leaning against her garage door watching Jeff shovel the drive while her's looks beautifully snow blown! Thanks Patti!

I, of course, had to work! My boss and the other supervisor were stuck in their homes with no way out! I guess since we have 4-wheel drive I was the lucky one that had to go into the office. Jeff was my chauffeur and I think we passed one car the entire time we were on SR 67! There were only three of us that battled the roads yesterday and arrived safely! I think the phone rang one time! However, the land of Child Protection does not stop and this time I had to, "take one for the team"!

After we got home last night, we enjoyed some playtime in the snow. Let me re-phrase that, MOMMY and DADDY enjoyed some playtime in the snow. Thanks to Tammy, Gabby's babysitter, for letting us borrow their sled! Every place in town sold out in no time at all! As you can tell from the video, Gabby was not a fan of the snow this year! I think you can catch her moaning throughout the the entire clip! She was very excited to get back inside that's for sure! Jeff made hot chocolate and Gabby had a hard time understanding that hot chocolate is HOT and why she could not try some until she is a little older! I think I will make her COLD chocolate next time! Ha! What do you think? Grampy came over after our playtime and we all headed to dinner! Sheesh...What a day!

If you look closely, you can see the neighbor across the street watching Jeff shovel! I love you honey!

Gabby! All bundled up and ready to go play in her 1st snowfall!

Gabby and Mommy! Thanks for letting us borrow your sled Tammy!

Gabby showing us that she is not really a fan of the snow yet!

SO happy to be back inside!

Thanks Jeff for the great hot chocolate! You're the best!

Awww...poor Gabbers. I'm sure she'll like the snow more next year :-P...at least until she has to drive in it one day :-P. She is definitely rocking the hot pink snowpants :-P. Soo cute! Do they have those in my size? :-P Hope you guys are doing well & staying warm! Tell Tammi that Gabby's Aunt and Psuedo-Uncle need to borrow her sled too :-P :-)...(joking).

Look at all the snow! Wow! Sorry she didn't like the snow. She was more happy to come back inside. :) The bib is from Baby Gap. They have quite a few and I think they were like $7.
