Road Trip!

This past weekend, Doris, Amy, Gabby and I headed to Kentucky for a family reunion. John and Jeff turn into hunting "goo-roos" about this time of the year and we lose track of them for at least three weeks...sometimes longer! Anyways, Gabby did great in the car! I was a little nervous about the four hours down and back, but with Grandma in the back seat keeping Gabby entertained with her "grandma bag" full of toys and treats, we were good to go! P.S. We may need her for the car ride if we travel to Florida at Christmas! I think Gabby got a little restless right before we got to Uncle Kenny's, but a sucker (or lolly as Aunt Amy calls it) saved the day! It was really cold and we had to move the bonfire party down to the house. Gabby enjoyed her cousin Layla who is 4 months older than she is. It was funny to see the two of them territorial over toys. They learned to share by the end of the day though. Aunt Amy got a good look at mommyhood and supervised the girls playing in the bedroom. She was amazed at how they speak a certain "baby language" and even seem to understand what each other are saying. I think they were little wild women too! We had a fun time! And the best news is...Gabby finally called her Aunt Amy by name. I guess I was in the bathroom at the gas station and missed it, but I believe them! Thanks for the great day!!

Haha!! That was such a fun road trip! I especially like that Gabby apparently has the same love for Janis Joplin, Marley, and James Taylor that I do :-P. That was funny when she was boogy'ing in her car seat. And...as far as saying "Amy"...apparently all I had to do was totally ignore her for a few minutes, and she said it :-P. It was a fun trip! Thanks for going!
