Birthday Wish List...Tacky or Not...Here It Is

Okay, so I know that this is probably pointless, being that Gabby's birthday party is a week away from Friday.  And, better yet, it is probably REALLY tacky to be posting a birthday "Wish List" from Gabby, however, there is an explanation behind this gig...I Promise!

I am not sure about many of you, but I struggle really bad with trying to figure out what to buy for the birthday dude or dude-ette.  What normally happens is that I wind up going into a toy store like Mass Ave toy store or Just A Trace(which is the cutest toy store I know in Southern IN) and pondering, for what seems like an entire day, after Googling: Cool Birthday Gift For A 3 Year Old Girl/Boy for at least two days prior to the shopping experience just to find the perfect gift.  In July we were successful with a child's birthday gift only because I had spent countless hours with this little diva to know that she is SO into princess stuff it is insane!  The point of this wordy post is that I usually have no clue what the child likes(even though it changes with kids every day sometimes), no clue what size of clothing they wear, no clue what the invitation had on it to know what to buy because my child usually chews it up(yes, she eats paper now...oh and glue)or hides the invite to the party in her bedroom under her bed?

Sooo, the solution...tacky or non tacky....is a WISH LIST by Gabby!

I honestly wish every parent would include a wish list with the invitation to the party or post a wish list on their blog or even create a Registry at Toys R Us like my good friend, Jen, did for her four children at Christmas time.  I will honestly admit that when I heard this I did a head turn, made a weird face and thought, "that's kind of weird".  Although, now that I am a mom of a toddler and am attending parties and usually show up with something that the child was into months ago instead of something hip hop, radical, narley dude, I think this is a heck of a good idea!  It's a win win situation because this way everyone knows exactly what to shop for and when you walk into the birthday party knowing you can assume that the gift receipt included in the card that is attached to the present is more than likely not going to be put to use at the original place of purchase.  .

Therefore, I now present to you, *the Gift List* by none other than Gabby herself.

Side Note(typed and transcribed by Mommy)Gabby says, "hi...thank you for coming to my party, I am three soon, you can play in my sandbox and on my playground, bye".

This really does feel tacky to write this as I sit here listening to my child ramble of things she wants.  However, I have a feeling that other parents might have thought of this idea with past events they were hosting, but never followed through with it because you are respectful, polite and well...just not plain rude like me.  Ah well...chances are you will forgive me...(insert nail bite)...well I hope so!
